Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento offers the only specialized obstetrical anesthesiology care in the area, providing two dedicated OB anesthesia providers available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Two OB Anesthesia providers assist mothers in managing the birthing process by providing every pain-relief option available. Their specialized expertise includes extensive experience in working with mothers who have special needs. The goal for each mother is to make childbirth as natural and easy as possible, while respecting her wishes to control pain. Education on the many pain-relief options is available through prenatal education classes and can help mothers make informed decisions during labor.
