GYN Oncology
For a woman facing a possible diagnosis of cancer, Sutter Women's Services provides specialized care that brings the whole woman, including her emotional and mental health, into the picture of care. Delivered in conjunction with the highly respected Sutter Cancer Center, our gynecologic oncologists employ the latest research to provide advanced care for cervical, ovarian and uterine cancers, as well as less common cancers.
Treatment
Patients have access to minimally invasive surgery techniques including robotic-assisted (da Vinci) surgery, available at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento and Sutter Roseville Medical Center to surgically treat gynecolgical oncology conditions. The da Vinci is a new, less invasive advanced surgical system that helps your surgeon see vital anatomical structures more clearly and to perform a more precise surgical procedure.
For most patients, the da Vinci assisted surgery offers numerous potential benefits over open surgery including a shorter hospital stay, less pain, less risk of infection, less blood loss and fewer transfusions, less scarring, faster recovery, and quicker return to normal activities.
For more information, including a list of trained GYN surgeons, see the da Vinci® Surgical System.

In the past year Donna started to become more and more familiar with cancer. She started off the year modeling for the Cancer Resource Center and ended it with a champagne celebration for her good friend who had overcome kidney cancer. The day after the party she discovered an unusual spotting of blood in her panties.
