Sutter's investment in the da Vinci® system for robotic-assisted surgery is a commitment to your health and well-being. Used by surgeons at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento and Sutter Roseville Medical Center for gynecological surgery, urogynecological surgery and gynecologic oncology, the da Vinci has proven to be easier on the patient than traditional open surgeries, requiring smaller incisions and reducing blood loss. From the patient perspective, da Vinci-assisted surgery generally means less pain, shorter hospital stays and faster recovery times.

The da Vinci does not replace the surgeon; the system enhances the surgeon's skill by providing a magnified, three-dimensional view of surgery site that allows the surgeon to see more detail than is possible with the human eye. The da Vinci also provides special tools the surgeon guides to perform the surgery. The combination of better viewing, precision surgical tools, and small incisions create less blood loss and pain, fewer complications, and a faster return to normal daily activities. Each woman is different and requires treatment tailored to her condition, age and general physical health.
