Sutter Institute for Medical Research
The Sutter Institute for Medical Research (SIMR) was originally established in 1959 as the Sutter Medical Research Foundation.
Since that time, SIMR has helped dozens of practicing physicians carry out research by providing the management infrastructure and administrative support to allow researchers to remain focused on study activities.
By removing the administrative burdens that are part of every research project, SIMR carries out its mission to:
- Foster and facilitate research, innovation, and education
- Ensure that Sutter Health remains a leader in innovation and quality of patient-oriented medical research by providing a clinical setting and comprehensive research and educational programs
- Attract quality professional staff and provide opportunities for them to remain at the forefront of their specialties
SIMR encourages and supports all Sutter physicians with an interest in research to find out about the services available. Where a research study or clinical trials exists, SIMR can help with the paperwork necessary to initiate research. If a physician is interested in participating in research, SIMR can help locate trials that may be of interest or help formulate protocols and apply for grants or other funding.
We welcome your interest in SIMR and encourage you to contact us if you are interested in conducting research.
