The first Doctor’s Day observance was March 30, 1933 in Winder, Georgia.  Eudora Brown Almond, whose husband was a doctor, decided to set aside a day to honor physicians.  In 1991, National Doctor’s Day became an official day of recognition through a presidential decree that marked March 30 each year to remember the courage, compassion and sacrifice of our nation’s physicians.
