    Patient & Family Support
    Sutter Comprehensive Epilepsy Program

Epilepsy is a physical condition that can often have social and emotional effects. At Sutter, we understand the wider ranging impact of epilepsy on our patients and their families and do everything possible to help them meet the challenges through medical care, education opportunities, and emotional support.

    Epilepsy Support Group

Established in 1991, the Epilepsy Support Group is one of our most popular programs. The support group allows patients, parents and family members a chance to come together is a warm and caring environment to share concerns, ideas and successes with friends who truly understand. The Support Group is facilitated by an epilepsy program veteran who maintains the group’s open and nurturing atmosphere, while also providing answers and direction to helpful resources. Many support group members have been involved for several years and have established long-term friendships with other group members that extend beyond the group gatherings.

Groups are held the third Tuesday of every month from 6:00-8:00 pm at Sutter General Hospital, Conference Room C. To find out more about the Epilepsy Support Group, please call (916) 454-6851.

    Educational Programs

From time to time, the Comprehensive Epilepsy Program offers programs for patients and family members to provide information about a specific subject or to present the latest developments in epilepsy diagnosis and treatment.
