You may choose to schedule a holistic evaluation with one of our medical directors or directly contact a practitioner by visiting our provider page to search our database. We accept health insurance, although most insurance companies offer only limited benefits for complimentary/alternative health care. We recommend you contact your insurance provider to determine your coverage prior to scheduling an appointment.

Ron Cotterel, MD, board-certified in Family Medicine and Integrative Medicine, offers Holistic Health evaluations and Integrative Medical Consultations.
The Holistic Health Evaluation includes a mind/body/spirit/lifestyle assessment and physical examination. Sutter Integrative Holistic Health in Davis takes a team approach to your care and information obtained at the Holistic Health Evaluation will be presented to the Davis complementary practitioner group. In this way the patients issues are considered in a holistic manner and specific therapeutic approaches are recommended for many complementary healing traditions. During your follow-up visit, these options will be discussed and an individualized healing plan formulated which is based upon your needs and wishes.
The Integrative Medical Consultation focuses on a specific health issue or issues from a perspective that includes the entire spectrum of conventional and complementary treatment and diagnostic options.

The Sacramento area has a number of physicians who provide integrative holistic care. Drs. Maxine Barish-Wreden and Kandeel Judge are board-certified Internal Medicine specialists who provide an integrated approach to care that combines conventional medical practice with mind-body-spirit practices that enhance the capacity of the individual to heal. Each patient receives a one-to-one holistic medical consultation to explore alternative therapies and to help create a wellness plan that addresses interests, strengths, and needs. Dr. Sarah Jones, a board-certified Family Medicine specialist, does consultative work in acupuncture and holistic medicine in mid-town Sacramento, and Dr. Anne Priest, also boarded in Family Medicine, offers acupuncture and osteopathic manipulation in her Folsom office. Two of our hospitalists, Dr. Sangeeta Parulekar and Dr. Lisa Ellis, also take a holistic approach with their patients.
