Richard Naval and his staff care for patients as though they were members of his family. His practice specializes in sports-related injuries, motor vehicle accident injuries, chronic and acute musculoskeletal pain, post-surgical rehabilitation and patient biomechanic reeducation. He established his practice at Sutter Davis Medical Center in January of 1998.

Naval is a graduate of UC Davis with a bachelor's degree in physiology and earned his doctor of chiropractic degree from Palmer West College of Chiropractic. He completed a preceptorship in sports medicine, and during his academic studies received the Chancellor's Award of Merit, the Most Outstanding Graduating Senior Award, Outstanding Physiology Graduate Award, and community service awards.

In avocational and recreational pursuits, Naval is very involved with martial arts and boxing, being a former national Golden Gloves lightweight-boxing champion. He holds black belts in various karate disciplines and enjoys supervising and teaching karate. He is an active sports fan, dances male-hula, loves to play the piano, and enjoys being a member of the Davis community where he is especially fond of the UC Davis Arboretum and the Farmers' Market.
