Dedicated Breast Ultrasound
It’s not uncommon for a mammogram to reveal an area doctors want to examine more closely. In those instances, our highly sensitive breast ultrasound technology often provides a noninvasive next step that uses high-frequency sound waves to deliver different views of the area. The procedure uses a simple sound-wave emitting wand placed against the breast area. Easy and painless, breast ultrasound often gives doctors the information they need to determine if additional diagnostic procedures are needed.
Our Health Information Library offers in-depth information on breast ultrasound tests, including why they’re done, how to prepare, what to expect and what the test results will show. Please see the Breast Ultrasound pages to learn about the test.
