Our Philosophy

At the Sutter Medical Group (SMG) Cardiology department, our goal is to provide our patients with the highest quality medical care available.  Focusing on each patient’s comprehensive needs is our top priority, ensuring that every patient gets the quality care they deserve.

Our Services

The SMG cardiologists have over fifty years experience providing comprehensive cardiovascular services to patients in the Sacramento Sierra Region. Our board certified physicians are available to provide a full range of both in-patient and out-patient cardiovascular services using state-of-the-art technology.

Our nine Board Certified Cardiologists offer a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic services including Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, stress testing, and ambulatory ECG recordings. Our clinical practice includes general cardiology consultation, heart failure management, lipid management, pacemaker (ICD/CRT-D) implantation and management, anti-coagulation management, arrhythmia ablation therapy for SVT, VT, and atrial fibrillation/flutter, and clinical research.  Our cardiologists are also actively involved in various cutting-edge cardiovascular therapies at Sutter Medical Center, including heart transplantation, ventricular assist devices, percutaneous cardiovascular devices, and peripheral vascular intervention.

Our Affiliation

Our SMG Cardiologists are proud affiliates of the Sutter Heart and Vascular Institute.  The Sutter Heart and Vascular Institute is comprised of physicians, surgeons, nurses, clinicians, therapists and other staff who are passionate about heart health. All these specialists come together as needed to develop and deliver immediate or phased treatment that will help each patient receive the specialized care she or he needs.

Our Future

Improving patient care is our mission and our passion. While trying to provide excellent service to our patients and our referring physicians, SMG cardiologists are continually seeking to bring cutting edge technology and techniques to the region.  Our state-of-the-art electronic medical record system enables us to communicate most effectively with our referring physicians and patients.  The clinical trials that we participate in allow our patients access to the newest therapies and medications.  We will continue to explore new fronts in cardiovascular medicine, and keep our practice at the highest regional and national level possible.
