    Who We Are

Hand-in-Hand brings families and health care professionals together to improve the health care experience for children at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento. Family-centered care recognizes that parents and family members are essential to a child’s well-being. In family-centered care, families and health care professionals unite to provide the best possible care and an environment that supports both the child and the family.

    What We Do

    Socials
Once a month Hand-in-Hand hosts a parent social in the playroom to offer parents support. This is an opportunity for parents to socialize and get to know each other outside of the hospital room while eating yummy food.

    Gift Bags
On most major holidays Hand-in-Hand passes out gift bags to our patients’ caregivers. The gift bags are meant as a little pick-me up for the grown-up caregivers who work so hard during a hospital stay.

    Pillows
Comfort pillows are being crafted for our surgical patients by a local Girl Scout troop.

    Family Support Guide
Hand-in-Hand has put together a Family Support Guide to provide useful information for our families’ hospital stay from a parents perspective.
