Dance Movement Therapy is based on the interrelationship of body, mind, and emotion. It uses movement as a process, which furthers the emotional, physical and spiritual integration of the individual.

This 12-week session will use dance movement therapy and imagery as a means to enhance the healing process and build a supportive community. It will provide support, relaxation and insights to its participants. The goals are to enhance wellness through improved body image, energy level, and sense of self. It will be facilitated by Nandi Szabo, M.A., A.D.T.R, Registered Dance Movement Therapist.

The participants can benefit by the opportunity to:

  • Awaken to their own body in relationship to their health and personal awareness not just to a disease.
  • Improve feelings about their body while working on body image, self-esteem and its effects on their life.
  • Improve physical well being while addressing fatigue and improving energy levels.
  • Facilitate communication.
  • Rediscover sensuality and increase sex life.
  • Deal with a part of the body that has been maimed or shunned and identify with it positively.
  • Integrate self for personal growth and inner harmony.

Limited body movement does not preclude the many possibilities for exploration and interaction.

Discussion with your physician regarding attendance is required prior to class. Due to space limitations, each session is open to 10 participants. Please call Nandi Szabo at (916) 529-1079 or email to pnandi@comcast.net to register or to obtain more information.
